Hypernotes addresses need for intuitive knowledge management in distributed teams
Zenkit productivity suite welcomes Hypernotes, designed to enhance collaborative knowledge management and idea sharing
March 11th, 2021 – Karlsruhe, Germany: The Zenkit team are proud to announce the release of Hypernotes, the fourth app to join the Zenkit productivity suite. Hypernotes is a team knowledge management app that enables collaborative note-taking, outlining, and the intuitive linking of ideas. Hypernotes will be available on all app stores, via the web, and as a desktop app.
The need for effective and long-term knowledge sharing has always been clear, and recent studies put a price on it’s impact on a company’s bottom line. According to the 2018 Panopto Workplace Knowledge and Productivity Report, “the average large US business loses $47 million in productivity each year as a direct result of inefficient knowledge sharing.” “42 percent of institutional knowledge is unique to the individual” which means that employee turnover or temporary unavailability directly results in a 42% loss of ability to perform their particular job.
As more teams move towards a distributed work model, it’s become even more important to gather all company knowledge in one place. Says Zenkit CEO Martin Welker, “The addition of Hypernotes to the Zenkit suite aims to fulfil the need to be able to effectively pool the knowledge of all members of the company into a valuable shared resource. Hypernotes helps people to intuitively document and organize their ideas, research, and knowledge, make connections to related concepts, and ultimately enables teams to more quickly and consistently meet their goals.
“Our goal is for Hypernotes to increase the “read:write” ratio in organizational documentation — to ensure that people are actually reading what’s been written. This is achieved through effective outlining and referencing which allows users to quickly navigate to important information. We want Hypernotes to help future-proof your organization.”
Hypernotes achieves this lofty goal with a number of features that have become the gold-standard for personal and organizational knowledge management in recent years:
- Bi-directional linking between related notes,
- Outlining of large topics into smaller sub-topics,
- Automated suggestions to link related but as yet unconnected notes,
- Embedding of text blocks to reduce duplicate content,
- Knowledge graphs for better discovery,
- Mobile apps on all platforms and offline access,
- Extensive collaboration on the task, note, and notebook level.
In addition, Hypernotes uniquely offers:
- Built-in dedicated productivity tools through Zenkit Suite,
- GDPR conformity and EU-based servers,
- Enterprise grade admin and user management,
- Activity tracking on task, note, and notebook levels.
Although company knowledge management is the primary use case, there are many other areas where such a tool would be useful, such as in individual or team research projects, book writing, diary writing, Zettelkasten note-taking, product documentation, and more.
